I own a D80 and it does NOT have live view although the newer D90 does have live view and its 12.1 mp- but i love my d80 its a great camera. also when you use liveview vrs the viewfinder your seeing a representation of the photo you want to take so please if you use a camera in the caliber of d90 or higher learn to use your viewfinder you will find yourself getting a lot more great shots.

The D40, D40x, D60 …
The D40, D40x, D60 and D80 do not have Live View. Current Nikon DSLRs with Live View include the D5000 and D90, along with higher-end models. The D5000 and D90 are available in kits with VR lenses. See my reviews at cameralabs . com for full details!

I own a D80 and I …
I own a D80 and I can testify that it’s an absolute joy to use. However, you should definitely check out the D5000 or other entry level models from other manufacturers. The reason being, the D80 is quite large, it’s 2 years old and newer models might offer you more for around the same cost? Maybe…

It’s only a good …
Still, if you want to get a D80, buy it without a kit lens unless it’s the same 18-55 DX VR that comes with the D40, which is excellent and far better than any of the D80 kit lenses
It’s only a good idea to get one if you haven’t got an SLR yet. The D80 takes exactly the same pictures as the D40, so if you’re considering an upgrade, get an FX camera such as D700 or D3

I love the D80 so much, that im taking half of my “buying a car fund” money to buy one of them!
It better be worth it!

I’m far from an expert at this! But I understand it as if the d80 is more built for professionals while the d60 is more purpose built for photo entusiasts who know a thing or two about cameras.
I’m thinking about getting a d60, seems like a good choice

Oh boy how …
Oh boy how embarrasing for me. I must have been in a hurry when I first searched for it. I’ve found it now and i think i’ll stick to buying the d80 with the stock Nikor 18-135mm and then save for a Nikor 18-200mm. Thank you very much Gordon and have a nice day.
