It’s got nothing to do with where you are from, there’s a right way and a wrong way…simple as that.

Prob got a lot to do with whether you want to pronounce it correctly or not, that of course is down to the individual.

The word Zuiko ( …
The word Zuiko (pronounced as Z(u)weeko) has a dual meaning; it was invented as an abbreviation of the name of Olympus’ optical plant: Mizuho Kogaku-kenkyujo, written in Chinese, but it is also an existing ancient Chinese word that means “light showing a sign of auspicious events”. A free translation could be ‘golden light’.
It was pronounced that way (zweeko) at the Olympus HQ in Japan……maybe they got it wrong…;-)

Why is it called …
Why is it called the world’s widest lens? On 4/3s it gives you the same as 14mm, but the sigma 12-24 covers 35mm or FF, so it gives a wider angle of view, making it a wider lens. The zuiko has a wider marking but so does the lens on my P&S, it’s only about 5mm.

I think that the marketing people at zuiko are taking some liberties by calling it the widest.
