just so you know, … just so you know, western digital is a con company. your “1TB” is actually about a 930gig hard drive because they use the metric system for their advertising which cuts off 24 of the memory. so instead of 1024 bytes being equal to 1kb its 1000.

I’ve been carrying … I’ve been carrying around between two computers a mybook and essentially just backing up and transferring. It’s fast at moving the files and hasn’t broken despite being in the luggage compartment of a bus etc. Solid product. The only downside is having to connect the power supply, but that is exactly why it is fast at reading and writing.

i only buy WD hard drives, so i bought this since it was only 80 bucks on New Egg (usually only buy things from Tiger Direct, but they are both the same company, just different locations). wish it had eSATA though, i’m using this to store games and vids, so if it had eSATA i would have played the games directly from the ext. but since its not i’ll just simply store the images there till i can get another enclosure w/ eSATA

My Book is a fat …

it disconnects all the time and sometimes it takes awhile to be recognized from my mac.
Maybe is because i formated it as FAT32
…I recently bought the new My book studio edition with Firewire800.. i hope this one will work better..
